Warranty Policy

Thank you for choosing CaGu MoDu. We are committed to delivering high-quality commercial and residential furniture designed for long-term performance across Australia.

This Warranty Policy operates in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).


1. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for a major failure

  • Repair or replacement if goods fail to be of acceptable quality

  • Compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under ACL.


2. 36-Month Wooden Furniture Structural Warranty

We provide a 36-Month Structural Warranty on eligible products from the date of delivery.

This warranty covers manufacturing defects affecting:

  • Structural frames and internal support construction

  • Load-bearing panels and core components

  • Drawer runners and hinges

  • Hardware and mechanical components under normal use

  • Factory workmanship defects

The warranty applies to both commercial and residential use under normal operating conditions.

If a defect is confirmed, we will provide a remedy in accordance with Australian Consumer Law, which may include:

  • Repairing the product;

  • Replacing defective components;

  • Providing a replacement item.

  • Providing a refund where required under Australian Consumer Law.


3. Office Chairs – 36 Month Limited Structural Warranty

Office chairs are covered under a 36-month structural warranty under normal seated use.

Covered (36 Months)

  • Structural frame defects

  • Gas lift mechanism failure

  • Base manufacturing defects

  • Recline and tilt mechanism faults

Covered (12 Months)

  • Castors (wheels)

  • Armrest surface materials

  • Upholstery stitching defects

Not Covered

  • Normal wear and tear of fabric, mesh, leather, or foam compression

  • Damage caused by exceeding recommended weight capacity

  • Misuse (including standing on chairs or impact damage)

  • Wheel damage caused by unsuitable flooring surfaces

Office chairs must be used within recommended weight limits and normal office conditions.


4. Travertine & Natural Stone Products

Travertine and natural stone are inherently unique materials.

The 36-month structural warranty covers:

  • Structural integrity

  • Manufacturing faults

  • Factory-applied finishes

However, the following are natural characteristics and are not considered defects:

  • Surface pores and cavities

  • Veining and tonal variation

  • Natural colour differences

  • Minor filled areas (small sections where natural pores or cavities have been sealed during the standard stone finishing process)

  • Slight dimensional tolerances within industry standards

Travertine is a porous material and requires proper sealing and maintenance.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Staining due to liquid absorption

  • Etching from acidic substances (coffee, wine, citrus, cleaning chemicals)

  • Heat damage

  • Chips or cracks resulting from external impact occurring after delivery

  • Improper maintenance or failure to seal the surface

We recommend using protective mats and resealing periodically to maintain the product’s appearance and longevity.


5. Transport & Delivery

Due to the size and weight of commercial furniture, inspection upon delivery is essential.

Upon Delivery

  • Inspect goods before signing freight documentation

  • Note any visible damage immediately

  • Take clear photographs

Reporting Timeframes

  • Visible damage: within 48 hours of delivery

  • Concealed damage: within 72 hours of unpacking

Failure to report within these timeframes may affect freight claims.

If transport damage is confirmed, we will repair, replace affected parts, or provide an appropriate solution.


6. General Exclusions

This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, including but not limited to:

  • Minor scratches, scuffs, or surface marks from daily use

  • Fading or discoloration caused by prolonged exposure to sunlight

  • Softening, compression, or creasing of cushions and foam

  • Slight stretching or patina development on leather or fabric

  • Slight changes in colour or texture due to ageing of natural materials

Other exclusions include:

  • Improper installation or maintenance

  • Environmental damage (humidity, flooding, extreme heat)

  • Unauthorised modifications or repairs

  • Third-party labour or installation costs

  • Concerns relating to personal comfort preferences, as comfort perception varies between individuals and is not considered a manufacturing defect

The list above outlines our more common exceptions. If you are unsure whether your issue qualifies for warranty coverage, please contact us — we are always happy to assist.

Professional installation is recommended for large commercial furniture.


7. How to Request Warranty Service

Step 1: Contact Us

Email: support@cagumodu.com with the following:

  • Order number

  • Product name or SKU

  • Clear photos showing the defect

  • Description of the problem

  • Purchase date

Step 2: Assessment

  • Our team will review your submission within 2 business days

  • We may request additional information or photos if necessary

  • We will determine if the issue is covered under warranty

Step 3: Resolution

If covered under warranty, we will provide one of the following at no charge:

  • Replacement parts shipped to you with installation instructions

  • On-site repair arranged at your location (metro areas only)

  • Product replacement for major defects that cannot be repaired

  • Refund, if repair or replacement is not feasible under ACL

Timeline: Most warranty claims are resolved within 10–15 business days.

 

8. Out-of-Warranty Repairs

After the warranty period:

  • Replacement parts can still be provided (charges apply)

  • Repair services can be arranged (fees apply)

  • Contact us for a repair quote

  • We keep common spare parts in stock

  • Parts typically ship within 5 business days

  • Installation instructions included, if available
